About Us

Why did I engineer the original Snow Goose?

As a Coloradan, I love being active in the wilderness in the winter time!  Fresh snow calls to me to get outside and ski, snow shoe, and enjoy the beauty that winter has to offer.  I love to go experience the snow and ice, forest and meadows, and winter wildlife. To me this is adventure and romance at its best.

For several years, I was unable to get to the wilderness during winter.  When I finally recovered the ability to get outdoors, I was not able to do much to enjoy the scene.  Why?  Because I was recovering from a serious illness and had limited mobility. I realized that to enjoy that winter scene, I needed some help.

While working on this for several years, I was discovering the characteristics this device needed to have .

The Snow Goose would include the following:

  • Extremely portable: easy to carry and set up.
  • Fatigue Friendly: provide a way to take a break off the snow, while out in the field.
  • Cargo friendly: able to carry tools, safety supplies, and lunch on the device.
  • Push Friendly: made to glide, and easily pushed or pulled.
  • Stop Friendly: brakes for safe control.
  • Stable: difficult to tip over.
  • Tree and Brush Guard Design: minimize those hangups.
  • Handlebars: high enough to support my weight, adjustable, something to hang on to.

After extensive research, I couldn’t find anything that would help me in all the ways I’ve listed. Using my downhill skis, I designed my own device.

After a series of prototypes, I arrived at the Snow Goose, which does everything I’ve desired for snow and ice mobility.  Finally, I could get outdoors, be active, and take advantage of all that winter has to offer.

The “icing on the cake” is, I’ve gained strength and flexibility while using my skis this way, and so can you!

Take a look at ways other folks have found to have a blast with the Snow Goose on this site.  I am confident the Snow Goose can help you or your loved ones access the great outdoors in winter.

Sincerely

Ken
